This class will be presented by Ram Srinivasan, a member of both the Nuclear Energy Institute Seismic Task Force and the ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA) Subcommittee on Engineering and Procurement Processes, and technical consultant with more than 40 years of experience in the seismic analysis and design of nuclear power plants.On Dec. 1 and 2, Real World Application of Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD), will focus on the application of CGD - the process by which off-the-shelf, commercial grade items are designated for use as basic components in a nuclear facility - to meet current industry needs and regulatory requirements. The course will be conducted by Douglas Brown, manager-consultant with Sargent Lundy LLC, who has more than 40 years of experience in the nuclear industry. He is a past chairman of t he ASME NQA Committee and a member of the hauptplatine of Nuclear Codes and Standards.Identifying and Prevention of Counterfeit, Fraudulent, and Suspect Items (CFSI), from Dec. 2-3, will be presented by Clayton Smith, technical services director at Fluor Nuclear Power and member of the ASME BPV III Committee. This MasterClass will concentrate on the identification and containment of CFSI, which do not meet the rigorous nuclear industry technical and quality requirements, can damage the publics perception of the industry, and can lead to sizable increases in nuclear power plant operating costs. The sixth course in the series, Software Dedication Training on Use of Commercial Grade Computer Programs for Design and Analysis in Nuclear Applications on Dec. 4, will examine the requirements and guidance available for using commercial grade computer programs and software services at nuclear facilities.
